Cherrine and Gary kissing by the lake at Château des Vigiers in the Dordogne

Let’s head to the Dordogne, to Château des Vigiers, for Cherrine and Gary’s wedding! Come with me to the region closest to my heart, one I have always loved, because this is where I grew up and spent my whole childhood.

It is with great emotion that I return to this beautiful region of the Périgord and share my images with you.

Château des Vigiers, Dordogne

In the Dordogne, 20 km from Bergerac and in the heart of the Périgord vineyards, Château des Vigiers stands in the village of Monestier. Known as the "Petit Versailles", the château was built in the 16th century and is today a charming four-star hotel.

The owners restored the château while keeping its authenticity and the style of its period. All the furniture is original. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and contemporary.

The Château des Vigiers estate is also home to a golf club with three international-class courses, welcoming beginners and experienced golfers alike. The three courses were designed by Donald Steel, one of the finest golf course architects in the world, amid the natural vegetation of the Dordogne.

Guests also have access to a Michelin-starred gastronomic restaurant, a hydrotherapy spa and heated outdoor pools. There is also a bistro, a fitness room, two tennis courts, electric bikes to hire, the golf shop and other activities.

Château des Vigiers Weddings

Renowned for its international golf course and its fine dining, Château des Vigiers is a favourite with an upscale international clientele.

The estate therefore hosts international weddings. The château’s bilingual team, and the services and activities on offer, are designed to meet the expectations of these guests.

Foreign couples and their families receive a particularly warm welcome.

A secular ceremony in the château courtyard followed by a drinks reception, salons for the wedding party, and accommodation can all be offered to couples and their family and friends.

The château’s kind and attentive team will do everything needed to help you feel relaxed and at ease throughout your wedding day.

Cherrine and Gary’s wedding: quiet emotions

Cherrine and Gary both come from China and live in London. They chose Château des Vigiers for their wedding in 2017, because they love the Dordogne and its wines.

I have wonderful memories of that day, even in the overwhelming heat.

The day began with a tea ceremony, with Cherrine in traditional dress. It was a moment of great restraint, and you could already feel a deep, quiet emotion.

Then, after a few couple photos, Cherrine put on her wedding gown. Like a princess going to meet her prince, she joined a secular ceremony that was full of emotion.

Cherrine was overcome with tears when her father walked her down the aisle. Time seemed to stand still.

As the couple love photos, we carried on with their couple session during the drinks reception. Dinner was then served at the château, with speeches from the bride’s father and her best friend. They were deeply moving moments.

As Cherrine and Gary’s wedding photos date from 2017, I have re-edited them to give them my Fine Art style.
