A Chic and Festive Wedding at Château Goudichaud

Marie-Anne and Vincent’s wedding at Château Goudichaud, in Gironde, was chic, joyful and full of warmth. But first, a few words about this beautiful wedding venue.

The history and architecture of Château Goudichaud

Château Goudichaud was built in 1780, in the heart of the Gironde, in south-west France, a region known for its natural beauty, its pleasant climate and its rich history. The château was used as a country house by a local aristocratic family. With its stone walls and tiled roof, it is typical of the region’s buildings.

It was built in a classical style, with a symmetrical façade and large windows that look out over the surrounding countryside. It is surrounded by formal French gardens and a landscaped park, both carefully restored to their original beauty.

Restoration and the château today

Château Goudichaud has been carefully restored and now hosts events such as weddings, receptions, seminars and concerts. The current owners restored it with respect for its original architecture, while adding modern facilities to make it more comfortable for visitors.

The château has a large reception hall that can welcome up to 330 guests. There are guest rooms close to the château, and hotels five minutes away.

Events and celebrations

Château Goudichaud is an ideal place for events such as weddings, receptions and seminars. The reception hall is spacious and well equipped, with an elegant, friendly atmosphere for guests.

Winemaking and wine tasting

In 1930 the Glotin family bought the estate, and Henriette Glotin ran it for 40 years. She was one of the first women winegrowers and managed the estate with passion. Paul then developed the vineyard to restore its original size, which had been broken up over the centuries. Today, Yves runs Goudichaud in the same spirit of respect for tradition and development.

Château Goudichaud is known for its vineyard and its high-quality wines. The estate covers more than 60 hectares and produces mainly red wines, as well as whites and rosés.

The surrounding area

Château Goudichaud sits in a part of France rich in sights and things to do. Visitors can enjoy walks in the surrounding countryside, explore historic villages and nearby châteaux, and taste the local food.

The Gironde is also famous for its vineyards, above all the Bordeaux vineyards close by. Visitors can tour wine châteaux, taste local wines and discover the history and culture of winemaking in the region.

In short, Château Goudichaud in Gironde is an ideal choice for couples looking for a wedding reception venue. With its classical architecture, its vineyard and its setting, it offers a unique and unforgettable experience to every guest.

Marie-Anne and Vincent’s Wedding Day at Château Goudichaud

Le Coupe-Chou in Chartrons, Bordeaux

My day began at Le Coupe-Chou, a hair salon and barbershop, where I found Vincent already in good hands! His wedding day had arrived, and he was ready for a memorable day by the side of his sweetheart, Marie-Anne.

Le Coupe-Chou is a renowned hair salon and barbershop in the Chartrons district of Bordeaux. This is where Vincent had his hair and beard taken care of, to look impeccable for the big day.

The civil ceremony at Le Bouscat town hall

After leaving the salon, Vincent headed to Le Bouscat town hall to meet Marie-Anne for their civil ceremony. They could not wait to say "yes" in front of their family and friends.

Once the ceremony was over, we took a few couple photos to capture this unique moment in their lives.

They had barely recovered from these first emotions when a brunch for both families was served, not far from their home.

The bride getting ready

Meanwhile, Marie-Anne slipped away discreetly to Guest Coiffure, a hair salon on rue du Loup in Bordeaux. She had chosen a flower crown and a bouquet by Natacha Delabriere of Le Bouscat, better known as DB Fleurs. She then finished getting ready in the expert hands of professional make-up artist Myriam Poulet.

Just before they left for their religious ceremony, Alexandre arrived (yes, I was not dreaming: Alexandre and Johanna were my couple from the year before!). He was at the wheel of the beautiful vintage car they had used for their own wedding, since renamed "Papy Marcel", to drive Marie-Anne and Vincent to the Église Sainte-Clotilde in Le Bouscat.

The wedding at Château Goudichaud in Gironde

In overwhelming heat, Marie-Anne and Vincent drove to Saint-Germain-du-Puch to reach Château Goudichaud, their reception venue.

While the families and guests slowly made their way to the drinks reception, the newlyweds took some time alone together among the vines. It turned into one of the most moving couple photo sessions.

A musical surprise

Some guests may have noticed and recognised him: a well-known singer was in the church. We were lucky enough to enjoy his company for the whole drinks reception: Julien Loko, who took part in the French TV talent show Nouvelle Star a few years ago with the well-known song "Alléluia". He delighted everyone with his music for almost two and a half hours! A real private concert.

The wedding party

As the light slowly faded, the guests were invited into the hall for the start of the evening. Marie-Anne and Vincent took the opportunity for a few more couple photos in the soft, low light.

The rest of the evening held plenty of surprises for them both, with an energy I have rarely witnessed. The atmosphere was quite extraordinary, and everyone clearly wanted to party to the lively music of Para Music! Every little moment became an excuse to dance, sing and laugh. In short, a day and an evening to remember for everyone!
