An Intimate Civil Wedding at Château de Cazalet in Pessac

Real Weddings

Laura and Anthony chose Château de Cazalet in Pessac as the venue for their civil wedding. Here is the story of their wedding day: an intimate celebration with an autumn feel.

A Château Wedding Venue in Pessac

Laura and Anthony put their trust in Pessac town hall, which pointed them towards Château de Cazalet as the place to bring their guests together. The venue regularly hosts wedding meals and receptions for couples marrying in Pessac. Château de Cazalet is a favourite with couples who want a natural setting while staying close to Bordeaux.

The château is surrounded by a wooded park, ideal for couple portraits and group photos.

Pessac lies right next to Bordeaux and is easy to reach by car, by train and by tram. It is part of the Bordeaux metropolitan area and is known for its wine heritage and its wine châteaux of the Pessac-Léognan appellation.

Couple Portraits at Château de Cazalet in Pessac

Laura and Anthony were married on 17 September 2020.

They had originally asked me to be their Fine Art photographer for three hours, as they had planned a small wedding. The civil ceremony was to take place at 11am with Pessac town hall, and the lunch reception was held in a restaurant.

Then, following the government announcements in mid-September, the couple decided to limit their guest list to ten. As a result, we took the wedding photos only during the civil ceremony and in the park of the château.

Laura and Anthony shared so much tenderness and sincerity in front of the camera, in an autumn atmosphere that had arrived early. The Indian summer we usually enjoy in our beautiful south-west of France had given way, that year, to an early autumn.

In the end, everything came together beautifully: the couple’s outfits, the bride’s bouquet and the setting of the park at Château de Cazalet.

Their witnesses, a couple of close friends, also joined in the photos.

Despite the last-minute changes caused by the health situation, this very intimate moment was full of emotion. The bride broke down in tears as she said "I do", a deeply moving moment in front of their little boy.

Thank you, Laura and Anthony, for your trust.
