Discovering the History of Château Pape Clément
For connoisseurs of fine wine and epicureans at heart
In 1959, Château Pape Clément received its Grand Cru Classé status for the Graves appellation
This means that the 90 hectares of the Château Pape Clément vineyard, worked since 1252, are tended with a goldsmith's care.
Château Pape Clément takes its name from the former Archbishop of Bordeaux, Bertrand de Goth, who became Pope Clement V six years after acquiring the château.
The acquisition of the estate by Bernard Magrez in the 1980s also marked a major turning point for the wine property. The businessman brought his experience to the vineyard and the estate, which contributed to its growing renown in France and abroad over the last 30 years.
A Grand Cru Classé Estate in Pessac
Just 7 km from the centre of Bordeaux, its neo-Gothic château, its cellars and its gardens, shaped by a landscape designer with exotic plants, a century-old cedar, olive trees and works of art, made it an exceptional setting for wedding photographs.

From my first season in 2016 until 2022, I photographed many weddings at Château Pape Clément, where I was officially listed as a recommended photographer.
I remain deeply grateful to the château's teams for their trust over all those years.
