A Post-Wedding Photoshoot on Arcachon Bay

Engagement Sessions

As a wedding photographer in Bordeaux, I offer post-wedding couple photoshoots to newlyweds. If you are one of the many couples who were left wanting more from their wedding photos, this article is for you!

Why Book a New Couple Photoshoot after Your Wedding?

In the world of wedding photography, a great many of us offer couple portraits: they are part of the wedding package! Sadly, some newlyweds end up not entirely happy with their couple photos. There can be many reasons for this:

  • the photo style no longer suits them;
  • they don’t have enough photos;
  • the poses are not varied enough;
  • the light and the weather were not on their side;
  • their relationship with the photographer did not end well;
  • and so on.

And yet wedding photos are the only tangible, physical memory that remains of the day. A wedding album full of photographs in which a couple does not recognise themselves leaves a bitter aftertaste.

Fortunately, there are as many styles as there are photographers!

I have been a wedding photographer in Bordeaux since 2016, and I specialise in the Fine Art style. It is the style I adopted in 2019, and trained in.

Fine Art is an avant-garde American style that you are not used to seeing in wedding photos. From the shoot itself to the editing of the images, Fine Art is a whole approach. It has its own particular technique, and that technique has to be learnt before it can be mastered.

What is Fine Art wedding photography?

The Fine Art style is not limited to wedding photography. Over time, however, it has become a style that couples love, and so it is very much in demand.

What makes Fine Art photos unique is a technique, from the moment the photo is taken, that gives the images a natural, luminous mood true to the atmosphere of the place.

Then comes the editing of the images in post-production, but the essential work has already been done during the shoot.

When you compare your Fine Art wedding photos with classic photos, you will see the difference immediately with the naked eye. It is subtle, but don’t worry: it shows.

Light composed with poses and setting, combined with the delicacy of the photographic grain, gives elegant, romantic photos.

As a Fine Art wedding photographer, I also take care to guide my couples during the session, so as to capture their emotions.

A Post-Wedding Couple Session: Anne-Sophie and Pierre’s Experience

Anne-Sophie and Pierre had already celebrated their wedding and had their couple photos taken, but not by me. They contacted me after receiving their wedding photos, to redo their couple portraits in a post-wedding session. Of course, I listened to their experience without any judgement. The style of their wedding photos did not suit them. They wanted to meet me so that I could tell them about my style, and see whether it matched what they were hoping for.

They found that my Fine Art photos were exactly what they had imagined: bright photos, true to the real colours.

We met on Arcachon Bay for their session, among the pines of the Réservoirs de Piraillan.

Here is what the couple said:

"A wonderful experience. Tristan put us at ease straight away, quickly understanding our personalities. He guided and reassured us throughout the session. Very professional, attentive and friendly! The photos are superb. We’re delighted to have shared this moment with him ;) A lovely encounter!" Anne-Sophie & Pierre
