An After-Wedding Couple Photoshoot at Parc de Majolan
Here is the story of a couple photoshoot near Bordeaux with Élodie and Mathieu. "After the Day" is also the name given to photo sessions that take place after the wedding. The newlyweds shared their most beautiful emotions during this outdoor shoot at Parc de Majolan in Blanquefort, in the Gironde.
A Couple Photoshoot After the Wedding
An after-wedding photo session can also be called a "day after session". The bride puts her wedding dress on again and calls on her hairstylist and make-up artist once more. The groom does the same with his wedding suit, his hairdresser or his barber.
The floral designer who created the bride’s bouquet makes a similar one to the bouquet from the wedding. It is not compulsory, but a pretty bouquet is a good idea to add a touch of colour to the photographs.
Meeting Élodie and Mathieu
Élodie, who comes from Lille, got in touch with me at the end of 2018 to ask me to photograph her wedding in June 2019.
Unfortunately, I was already booked on that date: I had been chosen as the photographer for a wedding in Normandy, so I could not take on her request.
In the end, the couple hired a wedding photographer from their own region to cover their wedding day and their couple photos.
Élodie really wanted me to take their couple photos, because she had loved my Fine Art photography style. Despite the lovely work of her wedding photographer, Élodie still came back to me after her wedding: she was determined to have another series of photos with my Fine Art approach.
At first, Élodie wanted to take the couple photos at the château where they had married. I advised her instead to choose a neutral place, with fresh energy, because the magic of the wedding would no longer be there.
Couple Photos at Parc de Majolan in Blanquefort
Together, they decided to join me in the Gironde, and I took them to Parc de Majolan in Blanquefort for its beautiful natural light and its lush greenery.
The couple photoshoot lasted two hours, and the newlyweds were delighted with the result! They really loved the Fine Art style, and they also very much enjoyed the park and the Bordeaux area.
Won over by my photos, Élodie’s sister Marie asked me to be the photographer for her own wedding in 2021, at Château Gassies! What a wonderful compliment.
